Join us for our 5th Annual Color Rides Weekend. Sponsored by us (North Coast Cycling Association) and the Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy a series of three group rides and a Saturday evening party to enjoy the fall colors and enjoy the company of others!All rides are free and open to the public.
Color Ride 1: Forest Road 236 “Good Morning Sweet Roll” – Friday, September 29th – 10:00 am.
This ride will launch from North Coast Coffee. We will ride up County C until we reach FR 236. At that point the group will determine how far to ride on FR 236 before turning around and heading back. On the return route we will head over to Tetzner’s Dairy for an ice cream treat before returning to Washburn.Color Ride 2: “Moquah Barrens Ride” – Saturday, September 30th – 10:00 am.
An easy to moderate National Forest ride. View the beautiful autumn colors from smooth and safe Forest Rd. 236. You will be riding gently rolling hills. Passing through the famed Moquah Barrens, look for the blueberry bushes showing off their red foliage! Don’t miss the old Brinks CCC camp! Choose how far you want to go before you turn around to return to the parking area. Turn around distances of 5, 10, 15, or 20 miles.
Parking and Launch Area:
The junction of County C and Forest Rd. 236, take Co. C approximately 10 miles from Washburn or Cornucopia. Park just off F.R. 236.
Cycle into Fall Party: Saturday, September 30th – 4 to 7pm
Lake Superior Tap Room/South Shore Brewery in Washburn (523 Bayfield Street, Washburn, WI).
Members and children under 12 – FREE!
Non-members $5, which may be applied towards membership.
Cash only bar. Free appetizers and snacks provided. Non alcoholic and kid’s beverages will be available. Music provided. Door prizes!
Color Ride 3: “Adventure Safari/Fat Bike Ride” – 1:00 pm.
Route to be determined. Meet at North Coast Coffee, Washburn.
