Chamber Book Club (1)

Thanks to a grant from the Washburn Community Education Foundation, the Chamber will be hosting its first ever business book club called, The Next Chapter. Each quarter of 2021 members will have the opportunity to read and discuss a book that has been carefully chosen to meet the needs of a diverse group of people, our members.

With the grant money, we have already purchased 10 copies of the books we will be reading this year. These will be available on a first come first served basis. A $10 fee for each book will be charged when you register for the book club. The funds collected will go right back into keeping the book club running in the future and the book(s) will be yours to keep. If we run out of books you will still be able to join us but will need to secure a copy of the book on your own.

We are excited to bring this learning opportunity to our members and we hope you will join us for at least one of the books we read this year.

Minimum Viable Marketing

The first quarter book is Minimum Viable Marketing by Brandi C. Johnson. This book was just published at the end of 2018. In February, when we meet to discuss the book Brandi Johnson will join us during our discussion to give more insight and to answer any questions that come up while you read.

13 Ways to Kill Your Community

Quarter 2 will have us reading 13 Ways to Kill Your Community (2nd Edition) by Doug Griffiths. This is an amazing book that will get you thinking about how we inadvertently harm our communities through our thoughts, perceptions and actions. When we discus this book we will brainstorm projects we can take on in our own community that will make a positive impact on the future.

To Be Announced

The order for the last 2 books has not been decided, but as soon as a decision has been made we will update this section.
