Pumpkin Carving Contest: Grab a pumpkin & get creative for the Washburn Hardware & Sport Pumpkin Carving Contest. There are 4 youth categories (funniest, scariest, cutest, or most complex) & an adult category (overall design) so everyone can participate! Pumpkins must be dropped off at the store on Oct. 29th from 10am-4pm. Complete details on how to submit your pumpkin can be obtained from the Chamber. Judging will take place on Halloween at 4pm. Kids in need of a pumpkin can visit the Washburn Public Library starting on Oct. 27th to pick up a pumpkin & carving kit (supplies may be limited).
Undead Tread: This year you have all week to complete the Undead Tread. You can register your team of 2-6 players for $20 at the chamber office Oct. 26th – Oct. 30th. Clues & tasks will be provided through QR codes. The team that figures out all the clues & completes all the tasks first wins. Cash prizes based on registrations.
Costume Contest: Get ready to show off your Halloween costume. Take a picture of you or your kids in this year’s costume. Submit it to the Chamber Oct. 12th – Oct. 25th. Categories are best group & best individual: adult, girl & boy. Judging will take place the week of Zombie Days & winners will be announced on Halloween.
Halloween Coloring Contest: Let’s add a little color to our celebration. Starting Oct. 1st stop by the Chamber to pick up a coloring sheet. Return your masterpiece by Oct. 23rd to Brownstone Pharmacy for display & judging. Categories are 12 and under & 13 and older. Judging will take place the week of Zombie Days & winners will be announced on Halloween.
Grim Grinning Ghost Hunt: Are you ready for a ghost hunt? Hide a ghost or two in your front facing windows. These can be a simple cut out from paper or as creative as you want. From Oct. 26th – Halloween get out and go on a ghost hunt! Count how many ghosts you can find. How many will you find throughout the city? Take pictures and share them with the chamber for others to see too. Who knows there may even be surprise treats for those who participate along the way!
Spookiest House & Business Decorating Contest: Decorate your home or business for Zombie Days. Take a picture of your decorations & submit it to the Chamber Oct. 12th – Oct. 25th. Judging will take place the week of Zombie Days & winners will be announced on Halloween.
Halloween Treat Bake Off: Show off your baking skills. Choose from two categories – Fall or Halloween treats. Entry Forms are available at the Chamber office or on the website. There is a fee for each entry – $10 for adult and $5 for youth. All proceeds go to Homecoming. Drop entries off at Chamber from Noon-1:45pm, Judging at 2pm.
Zombie Days Drive-In Movie: Friday Oct. 30th, in the parking lot of Mt. Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area. The Camber will host 2 shows as a fundraiser for Homecoming. The first show will be Ghostbusters. The second show will be the classic zombie movie Night of the Living Dead. There will be a limit of 50 cars per show.
