Beginning in the 1900s as a way to find homes for orphans\, trains left New York City and brought children all over the country.  The Orphan Train story was not always a good one.  Orphans were adopted primarily by farmers\, supposedly to the benefit of both.   One such child  arrived at the Bayview Depot. \nPlease view our website for more details.
