This exhibition opens Wednesday\, November 8\, and will remain on view through December 30. Please join us for an Opening Reception on Friday\, November 10\, from 5pm–7pm with light refreshments\, poetry readings\, and meet & greet with the artists. \nVisit the website for more information about this exhibition. \nThis is the first show this pair has done together and their mediums will balance the space nicely with Leah’s traditional-contemporary style of ojibwe florals and a large array of mediums including Beadwork\, quillwork. Complimenting Leah’s work in the second gallery room will be Rabbett Strickland with his vibrant indigenous-inspired oil paintings. His work has been influenced by European Renaissance and Baroque masters\, including Botticelli\, Michelangelo\, Titian\, Velasquez\, Rubens and Leonardo\, as well as by Ojibwe mythology oral history.  \nThis exhibition opens November 8 with an opening reception held from 5-7pm on Friday November 10\, and will remain up until December 30. We hope to see you all there to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity!

DESCRIPTION:Each Wednesday at 10 am the kids’ area in the upstairs becomes a place for storybook wonder and excitement when we host Toddler Tales/Story Time. \nPreschoolers and their moms and/or dads listen to a few great tales\, maybe sing a song and share a dance or two\, and generally just have fun. \nIt’s a great time for young families to interact and meet one another.

SUMMARY:Washburn Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
DESCRIPTION:The Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce will again host a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot! This fun family event will take place on November 23rd. Pre-registration opening soon. \nSame day registration will start at 8am at the Washburn Chamber Office with the fun run starting at 8:30am. The cost is $15 per person through November 22nd and $20 for day of registration. All proceeds go to Homecoming 2025. Don’t wait to register! Everyone who registers by November 23rd will be entered into a drawing for Bay Bucks. \nParticipants may run or walk the course along the shore of Lake Superior. The Washburn Area Chamber office is home base providing walk in registration\, start\, and finish. You can view the course map on our website when it is finalized. \nThe Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce is covered by general liability\, but does not have or provide medical coverage for participant injuries incurred in the normal course of the activity or event. It is advised and recommended that all participants make arrangements for their own medical coverage. You will be asked to sign a participant waiver the day of the event.
