DESCRIPTION:Music in the Parks returns for its fourth season this summer in Washburn\, WI. \nThe Music in the Parks 2024 season kicks off on May 29th with The Whitecaps. Come and listen to some amazing musicians and enjoy some time outside in beautiful Washburn. The shows run from 6PM – 8PM\, and are FREE to the public. Just bring your family\, friends & something to sit on. Each week is a unique experience suitable for the whole family. Returning artists this year include\, Little Stitious\, Scott Keever and more. We also look forward to bringing you new music from Acoustic Relapse\, & Sean & Ian Okamoto to name a few. \nDue to the road construction happening this summer on Bayfield St. all Music in the Park performances will take place at Legion Park on the East side of town next to the Washburn Cultural Center. Please join the BLO for symphonic performances at The Club\, 3 West Bayfield Street in Washburn\, on Friday\, 12 July\, 7 p.m.\, and Saturday\, 13 July\, 7 p.m. On Sunday\, 14 July\, 3 p.m.\, the Garland City Chamber Players will offer chamber music with the same nostalgic eye. The chamber performance will be in Ashland\, and have extremely limited seating. Location will be announced at the symphonic performances\, and seating will be assigned on a first-come\, first-serve basis. All performances feature free admission\, because money can’t buy the best music. Donations are gratefully accepted and will help make music happen for all to enjoy.

DESCRIPTION:Houghton Depot Open Houses \nJuly 13\, July 27\, August 10\, August 24. All open houses are from 10 AM – 12 Noon. No charge. \nLocation: Houghton Depot\, Bayview Park (8 miles north of Washburn\, just off HWY 13) \nLook for the “Depot is Open” sign along HWY 13. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and operate the model railroad that runs the tracks through a model of Bayview and Houghton Village circa 1913. Explore the graffiti on the walls left by folks visiting the depot during its operation. Outside\, you’ll find artifacts and storyboards that help tell the history of the Bayview area and the people who lived and worked here\, including brownstone quarrying and the importance of railroad development.
