Cultivating Connection, Consciousness, and Change: Where Nature Nurtures Growth. Potter’s Farm is a non-profit educational and spiritual center located on 45 beautiful acres of meadows and woods just minutes from downtown Washburn. For those who share our deep respect of the land and living in harmony and peace with nature, the farm is open to hosting your classes, retreats, meetings, small weddings and more.
The Center seeks to maintain a “home like” feeling, creating spaces that blend in with and focus on the natural resources of the land while still meeting the needs of its guests. Just as it was when Alden Potter grew fruits and vegetables here and fed the families of Washburn, the center desires to feed, fuel, and foster the hearts and minds of the greater Washburn community through our programs and land resources. This untapped treasure will benefit those looking to create change in themselves, their families, and their organizations.
The main farmhouse sleeps up to 17 with a queen pull out bed in the living room. There are 3 private rooms and a dorm space that sleeps 8. There is a large living room, full kitchen, and dining room. The house has 1.5 baths plus an adjacent shower house with 2 3/4 baths. Additional guests of 3-4 can be accommodated in the 3 season cabin.
Our historic stone barn hand-raised at the turn of the century has been refurbished and updated. This space is a great 3-season community meeting area.
At Potter’s Farm you can hike or snowshoe on our trails, meditate near the reflection pond, or walk the labyrinth. Potter’s Farm is also a perfect stay and play accommodation with lots of great outdoor adventures, apple orchards, and Lake Superior just a short distance away.
Reserve this for your private winter retreat. The house is available for monthly or long term rentals.
