The Washburn Lions Club is part of the largest service organization in the world with over 1.4 million members. The local Washburn Lions Club funds and supports projects on the local, state and international level. The Washburn Lions Club provides glasses and eye exams for people in need, provides funding for people with disabilities to attend the Wisconsin Lions Camp, sponsors the Kiddie Carnival during Zombie Days, provides school supplies for children in the Washburn School District through the Stuff the Bus campaign, staffs a rest station for the Superior Vista Bike Tour, sponsors the annual Bob Ungrodt Memorial Golf Scramble, sponsors the annual Hunters Moon Raffle with a top prize of $1000 plus 7 additional cash prizes, participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program on a section of Hwy. 13 north of Washburn, co-sponsors with the City of Washburn providing trash receptacles throughout the downtown, provides concessions for the EMS Dance, North Coast Car Show, Brownstone Block Party Community Picnic, local auctions, provides financial support to Washburn Public Library, The Club, Washburn Museum and Cultural Center, Little League, Youth Soccer, The Brick, and numerous other projects on an as needed basis.
