Play Unplugged – Member of the Week January 18th – 24th

Did you know that January is National Hobby Month? In recognition of this month long celebration, we are excited to announce that the Member of the Week is one of our newest members Play Unplugged! Hobbies are a way to escape the world around us and focus on something that brings us joy and fun even if it is for a little while.

So Many Hobbies So Little Time

At Play Unplugged they believe in the value and importance of play, not just for children but for adults too! Play can help kids develop their imagination, social skills, and emotional and cognitive growth. Mixing in some healthy unplugged play time as adults can help us bring balance to our hectic lives. They have toys both for playtime and collectors, board games for social game nights, books for young imaginations or old. There is modeling paints and tools to add a creative outlet to your gaming. Don’t forget the card games like Magic or Pokemon that are great for collecting, casual play, or competitive tournaments. Best of all, they also provide a gaming space with plenty of tables to meet and play with other people who share the love of your favorite hobby.Perfect business to showcase for this month-long celebration, right?

Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!

The Croteau Family, Mindy & Joe, have run the business for 11 years. Last December, they purchase the old Hallmark shop on Main Street in Ashland. That move allowed them to expand their selection. Making Play Unplugged a true must visit location in the Chequamegon Bay Area, for both kids and adults. In addition to their beliefs about play, they also believe in building a strong community which is one of the reasons they joined the Chamber this year. They also work with local schools, after school programs, and educators to help bring games into their programs, clubs, and learning opportunities.
