Eco Print Flowers on Silk Workshop
September 28 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$75Eco-printing, also known as botanical printing, is a sustainable and non-toxic technique that uses natural plant materials to create patterns and colors on fabric or paper. The process involves bundling plant material with fabric, then steaming or boiling the bundle to release the plant’s natural dye onto the fabric. The result is a unique print, in an arrangement you created, that captures the plant’s shape, color, and texture.
In this class Marielena will provide all the necessary materials, including flowers and plants from her flower farm in Bayfield. Together we will each print a sample onto a 13x13inch piece of cotton, and then we will design a 11×63 inch silk scarf. These will be treasured wardrobe accessories, or coveted gifts for the season to come. Bring your friends and let’s get printing!
