Join the Blue Canvas Orchestra with featured guest Andreas Transo in a rousing journey back in time aboard the Good Ship Chautauqua with our crew of sailors and roustabouts.

Sea Shanties, the work song of the sailor in the 1800s & 1900s, found a new moment during the pandemic thanks to Tik Tok and Instagram, but the Blue Canvas Orchestra found them long before that, as did Madison musician & historian Andreas Transo.
Transo now travels with the Shanties to Sing-alongs around the state. This performance will feature songs from BCO’s Shanties & Shipwrecks, Transo’s collection of songs, and a few opportunities for the audience to join in on the heave ho.
Transo joins Musical Director Ed Willett, Phillip Anich, Stevie Matier and Jan Lee on deck.
