Washburn Lions Club

The Washburn Lions Club, with over 1.4 million members worldwide, is a global service organization that supports local, state, and international projects. The Washburn Lions Club, along with all Clubs across the state, supports the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, WI. The camp serves both children and adults with vision,hearing and cognitive disabilities and all campers attend at no cost to the camper or their family. Locally, the Lions Club conducts eye screenings for all students at the Washburn Elementary School, hosts a Halloween Kids Carnival, provides school supplies to families in need, donates to the local Christmas Toy Drive and “The Brick” food shelf, the Washburn Library Easter Egg Hunt, collects used eye glasses and hearing aids, supports the Wisconsin Eye Bank and provides transportation of donated eyes and eye tissue to the Eye Bank, supports Leader Dogs for the Blind, diabetes and childhood cancer research and participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program. The Lions Club sponsors the annual Bob Ungrodt Memorial Golf Scramble on the Saturday of Brownstone Days. Conducts a Hunter’s Moon Raffle in the fall with $2000 in cash prize awards and concessions for multiple public events.
