XC Ski Trails

Mt. Valhalla – Valkyrie and Teuton Ski Trails : These trails are maintained by the Forest Service. Their are 2 sets of trails ; the Teuton – 3 loops 4 -7 km , more / most difficult ,
skating and classic and the Valkyrie – 3 loops , 2- 10 km easy to more difficult , classic only

Lake Superior View Ski and Snowshoe : 1, 2, 3, and 4 km ski loops on and around Lake Superior View Golf course less than 1/2 mile from Washburn on County C. These trails are meticulously
groomed for both classic and skating. Snowshoe trails are generally unpacked and meander into the wooded area below the golf course.

Snowshoeing is available at the Houghton Falls Nature Trail, The Washburn Walking Trail, in the woods at Mt. Valhalla ( not on ski trails or snowmobile trails ) , the Washburn School Forest, Lake Superior View Ski and Snowshoe, Lost Creek Falls Trail and the Bayfield County Kettles.
