Bay Area Film Society

The Bay Area Film Society (BAFS) is a nonprofit arts organization serving the Chequamegon Bay area on Lake Superior’s South Shore. BAFS provides opportunities to discover, cultivate, and amplify diverse voices of filmmakers who tell their stories to a wider public. Proudly screening at Superior Cinema since 1997.

Washburn Historical Society

For years, the all-volunteer Washburn Area Historical Society has been providing a place for local people to donate all sorts of items of historic significance for preservation and sharing with the general public at their museum. They have a sizable, varied collection of historical treasures housed in our archives and available for viewing.

Washburn ValHellers Snowmobile Club

The Washburn Valhellers Snowmobile Club is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to the sport of snowmobiling. They help to promote and create winter time tourism and recreation opportunities through the maintenance of local snowmobile trails in and around the Washburn area.
